In-depth: Jetboat Analytics vs Amplitude

Amplitude is the enterprise product-analytics suite: analytics, replay, experimentation, a CDP, and AI agents, self-serve on their cloud. Jetboat Analytics is a managed pipeline — product analytics, session replay, and error tracking — that we operate for you and turn into fixes you approve.

Choose Amplitude if…

  • You want the enterprise suite on one platform: flags and experiments, a CDP, guides and surveys, warehouse export, SQL, and AI agents, with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and an EU data center behind it.
  • Someone on your team will own analytics day to day. The Free plan (2M events, 10,000 replays, unlimited seats, a year of data) rewards teams that do it themselves.
  • You buy at scale and need SSO, SCIM, a response SLA, and an assigned account manager; Growth and Enterprise are built for that.

Choose Jetboat Analytics if…

  • Nobody on your team will live in the tool. Amplitude rewards a dedicated analyst; we do that job for you, and you have a named human from day one.
  • You want errors next to the analytics. Amplitude has no error tracking; we track exceptions and link each one to the replay that threw it and to that user's history.
  • You want the findings shipped. We propose with the evidence attached, you approve, and we implement inside your systems, on the one plan.

What Amplitude is good for

Amplitude is built for a product organization with people whose job is analytics. The reporting is deep: segmentation, funnels, retention, journeys, notebooks, dashboard subscriptions, and cohorts that sync out to email and ad tools through Activation. Experimentation is in the same product, with unlimited flags on every plan and A/B/n, holdouts and bandits on the paid tiers, so a growth team can test what it finds without a second vendor.

The paperwork is done: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, a HIPAA BAA, and an EU data centre on every plan. The free plan is generous, with 2M events a month, 10,000 replays, unlimited seats, and AI agents and MCP included. If you have an analyst or a growth PM who will live in the tool, Amplitude gives them a lot to work with.

What Amplitude leaves to you is the running of it. There is no error tracking; the SDK records failed requests and error clicks, and exceptions go somewhere else. Unplanned events land as “Unexpected” unless you're on Growth or Enterprise. Replay is off by default and stops at the organization's quota. And the person who turns a chart into a shipped change is still on your team.

Moving off Amplitude

We don't import Amplitude history, and you don't need to lose it. Amplitude exports to Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift and S3, so pull what you want to keep into your own warehouse before your data-access window closes: one year on Free, two on Plus. Replays don't move; Amplitude keeps raw replay data for 30 days, and ours start fresh on day one.

  1. We add our script beside the Amplitude SDK. Both run, and your Amplitude dashboards keep working while ours fill in.
  2. We register your existing event names and properties as schemas, so plan_selected stays plan_selected. Events that fail validation are quarantined and reported.
  3. Your identify call maps to ours. Amplitude's user ID becomes the user ID here, and anonymous activity is stitched to the user when they sign in, the way Amplitude merges an anonymous profile into a known one.
  4. We run both for two to four weeks, reconcile the counts on the events you care about, and send you the comparison.
  5. You remove the Amplitude SDK when you're satisfied, or keep it. Some teams keep Amplitude for experiments and flags and use us for the analytics they want run for them.

Pricing

Amplitude's Free plan is “2M Events/month forever” with no credit card, unlimited team members, 10,000 monthly session replays, one year of data access, and AI Agents and MCP included. Plus is “Starts at $0 — First 2M Events/month free” on the plan card and “Starting at $49/mo” in the comparison table, scaling to “Up to 700K MTU / 70M EV” with two years of data access. Growth and Enterprise are custom and sold through sales; Enterprise adds an account manager and a one-business-day response SLA. Startups under $10M in funding with fewer than 20 employees get a free year of Growth (Amplitude pricing). Jetboat Analytics is one plan, everything managed, scoped on a short call (pricing). If your volume fits inside Amplitude's free tier and you have someone to run it, Amplitude will cost you less in cash. What you are paying us for is the team.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jetboat Analytics an Amplitude alternative?

As an Amplitude alternative for product analytics and session replay, yes — that is what we run, plus error tracking, which Amplitude does not offer. It does not replace Amplitude's experimentation, feature flags, Activation (its CDP), guides and surveys, or warehouse export. If your team leans on those, Amplitude is the better fit; some teams keep Amplitude for experiments and use Jetboat for the analytics they want operated for them.

What does “managed” mean here?

We host and operate the whole pipeline — ingestion, storage, dashboards, replay, and error tracking — and you get a named human from onboarding onward. On top of that an operator watches your events, replays, and errors and proposes concrete product fixes; you approve them, and we can implement them inside your existing systems or hand them to your team. Amplitude's Enterprise tier gives you an account manager; it doesn't give you someone who runs your analytics.

Amplitude has AI agents too. What is different?

Amplitude's agents come with every plan, including Free, and they are real: they query your data, build charts and dashboards, watch metrics, and recommend actions; the experiments they propose need a human's approval, and Wave, which orchestrates pull requests, is in closed beta for a second-half-2026 rollout. Ours does a different job: it watches the pipeline as well as the product, writes up each finding with the events, replays, and errors behind it, a human approves, and we implement the fix inside your systems or hand it to your team. Personal data is redacted before anything reaches a model.
